Certification

PROAOA is formally recognised by Transport Canada as an institution that can provide guide certification.

Our system provides member companies a means of certifying guides that follows the Canadian Special-purpose Vessels Regulations and meets or exceeds industry standards. PROAOA company owners are recognized as Examiners, and then are able to provide training and certification for guides. The PROAOA Guide Certification Program includes a practical and written testing process, different levels of certification and endorsements for propulsion methods, log books, digital guide certificates and an online data bank.
